Auckland Mikveh Project

Welcome to our Auckland Mikveh

We are thrilled to invite you to be a part of a transformative endeavour

that will shape the future of our community.

Our mission is to establish a new Mikveh in the suburbs,

bringing the profound spiritual and communal benefits closer to home.

Project Details

Our proposed Mikveh project aims to create a modern facility that meets the needs of our community. Here are the key details:

Location: The new Mikveh is strategically located in the heart of the community centre in the Eastern Suburbs, ensuring accessibility for all Aucklanders and visitors. We have secured a suitable area of land that is conveniently located and easily accessible.

Design: The Mikveh has been designed by a renowned Mikveh Designer from Israel (Goldberg Mikvaot - גולדברג מקוואות / Taharem - טהרם), with careful attention to Halachah, functionality, and privacy.

It was important for us to design the Mikveh with the highest Halachic standards so anyone can use it. The facility will include a dedicated Mikveh pool, private preparation rooms, comfortable waiting areas, and tranquil spaces for reflection and prayer. We are working closely with architects and designers to create a contemporary space that respects tradition while providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Donor Recognition

We deeply value the support and generosity of our donors, and we are committed to recognising their contributions in meaningful ways. As a token of our gratitude, we offer the following donor recognition opportunities:

Naming Opportunities: Donors contributing at a significant level will have the opportunity to have their names or the names of their loved ones prominently displayed within the Mikveh facility.

Public Acknowledgment: We will publicly acknowledge our donors through various channels, including our website, social media platforms, newsletters, and community events. Your generosity will be shared with the community, inspiring others to join in supporting this transformative project.

Timeline & Milestones

We are committed to moving forward with the Mikveh project efficiently and transparently. Here is a general timeline and key milestones we aim to achieve.

Fundraising Campaign Launch: We have officially launched our fundraising campaign, and we are excited to rally the support of our community and beyond. We will actively engage in fundraising efforts, spreading awareness and inviting contributions.

Design and Approvals: Concurrently with the fundraising campaign, we are working closely with our architect to finalise the design plans for the Mikveh facility. We will also seek the necessary permits, consents and approvals from the council.

Construction Phase: Once the design plans are approved, we will proceed with the construction phase. This stage involves site preparation, construction of the Mikveh pool, facilities, and all associated infrastructure. We will collaborate with reputable contractors to ensure the highest quality standards.

Completion and Opening: As construction nears completion, we will plan for the opening of the new Mikveh facility. This joyous occasion will be a celebration of our collective achievements and will mark the beginning of a new chapter in our community's spiritual journey.

Once we have confidence in the project's funding, obtaining building consent, construction and commissioning will progress as a year-long project.

Collaboration & Maintenance

The maintenance and operation of the Mikveh will be collaboratively overseen by a dedicated group from the Auckland Hebrew Congregation and Chabad New Zealand. This joint effort ensures a comprehensive and well-rounded approach.

Guided by an unwavering dedication to upholding the highest standards of Halachah, this collaborative oversight will serve as a guarantee that the Mikveh operates in complete harmony with our cherished traditions.

We warmly invite all Orthodox communities in Auckland who wish to join us in this project
